What is GOI?
GO! Initiative (also known as GOI) is an event organised yearly centered around exploring a new social cause that is of concern to the NTU community. Through interesting activities and events, we raise awareness and advocate for the cause!
Exhibitions were held during OFFLINE! and L.O.V.E to further raise awareness and educate the NTU student community on the social issue of focus.
Exhibitions provide NTU students with pertinent information about social issues and their impact on the community. At these exhibitions, students have the opportunity to participate in mini activities that help to emphasise important information about the social issues and stand a chance to win prizes!
2. Call-To-Action Campaigns
GO! Initiative events mainly revolve around campaigns targeted at raising awareness on specific social issues and encouraging students to take small steps towards addressing these issues!

GO! INITIATIVE 2021
With the world becoming more interconnected and dependent on technology, we are constantly using our digital devices. However, digital devices are double-edged swords. While they can enhance efficiency, convenience, and communication, excessive usage can distract one from real work, erode relationships, and lead to addiction.
‘OFFLINE’ is an initiative aimed at raising awareness on the problems of excessive digital device consumption and the benefits of starting a digital detox journey. This initiative also aimed to highlight the problems of excessive digital device usage and enable students to achieve self-realisation of their own over-dependence, and possibly addiction to their devices.
A physical booth was set up at North Spine outside Global Lounge and stickers were pasted around campus to raise awareness about the importance of digital detox.

GO! INITIATIVE 2020
Excessive digital media consumption affects both mental and physical health, leading to stress, fear of missing out (FOMO), fueling anxiety, reducing sleep and human connection. Unplugging on a regular basis helps us maintain healthy real-life social interactions without distractions.
Ultimately, taking digital breaks are important to maintain a healthy lifestyle. GOI: Digital Break aimed to raise awareness on the problems of excessive digital device consumption and the benefits of taking digital breaks.
GO! INITIATIVE 2019
A campaign targeted at raising awareness on social inequality through encouraging small and simple actions as the first step against social inequality. The event held at Canopy K at North Spine was aimed at spreading love to everyone and not just our family and friends. A physical booth was set up to inform the NTU community and educate others on certain social inequalities such as physical and mental disabilities.
NTU students and staff were also invited to then participate in mini games aimed at raising awareness on social inequalities. One such activity was the folding of origami hearts in exchange for magnets that were used in the second phase of the campaign - the “Pay It Forward” initiative.
